Join Claire Allen and Drew Robertson for an exciting evening of violin and viola music for two instruments, from charming Baroque dances to intense, virtuosic showpieces. Featured on the program are a selection of Bartok duos inspired by the folk songs of Hungary, the thrilling Three Madrigals by Martinu, and virtuosic showpiece duets by Wieniawski! The performance will be presented in an engaging, educational, and interactive format perfect for younger audience members!
The Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at The Juilliard School
Both Ms. Allen and Mr. Robertson have been selected from thousands of qualified teachers to participate in one of the most prestigious teacher training opportunities available. The Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies is held biennially at the Juilliard School in Manhattan. Teachers attend intensive lectures, participate in repertoire-building classes, and observe some of the world’s premier teaching and performing artists work with a dozen young virtuosos. No other teacher training experience features such a concentration of skilled performers, master teachers, and artist-players in a single location. The Starling-DeLay Symposium is truly unique and both Claire and Drew are thrilled to receive invitations to participate in this exciting event.
