Music History Courses
At the Drew Robertson Music Studio
The Drew Robertson Music Studio strongly believes student artists not only need to master the technique and performance of their instrument but understand the context and interpretation of their repertoire. In order to gain a fuller understanding of music, the studio offers a four-course sequence of studies in music history.
To provide students with excellent materials and the opportunity to receive credit for their hard work classes, history classes align with the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program curriculum, and students are strongly encouraged to challenge the RCM tests as a final exam for the course.
Class Format
Each course is recommended for students in grades 6-12 or ages 12-18.
Classes are taught in an online format, and classes are recorded so students can review previous material or catch up after missed classes.
Each lesson is presented with engaging presentations, recordings, and supplemental materials.
Students are encouraged to review class material through online quizzes after each class.
After each unit, students are encouraged to challenge a comprehensive online test in the format of RCM exams.
